The Division of Structural Biology
applies the techniques of structural biology, particularly macromolecular crystallography and electron microscopy, to the study of biomedically important processes. The research interests of the Division include the structural study of viral proteins and intercellular recognition, particularly related to immunological and cancer mechanisms.
Technologies in use: HTP pipeline for protein expression and crystallization including i) target selection and annotation ii) automated gene cloning, protein expression and characterization (including MS and thermofluor analysis) iii) conventional nanodrop plate-based crystallization and microfluidic crystallization screening iv) automated crystal imaging and recognition v) automated structure determination methods vi) computational methods for fold analysis and disorder prediction vii) LIMS and PIMS.
