The EMBL-Grenoble is a member of the newly founded Partnership for Structural Biology (PSB) in Grenoble (http://psb.esrf.fr), which aims to provide integrated and high-throughput platforms for structural biology. EMBL-Grenoble has strong research activities in structural biology of macromolecular complexes in eukaryotic systems. Research areas include viruses (adenovirus, influenza, EBV, ebola, rabies), innate immunity, transcription and chromatin remodeling, RNA maturation and translation, and nuclear transport. Under SPINE, the Outstation acquired HTP capabilities in expression (library methods, see below) and crystallization (Cartesian nano-drop system) and is now installing an appropriate LIMS systems. Together, the outstation and ESRF (Partner 10) provide HTP automated synchrotron instrumentation and beamlines for protein crystallography. EMBL-Grenoble contributes to SPINE2-COMPLEXES with prokaryotic expression systems, crystallization, HT synchrotron facilities, structures of Epstein Barr Virus and innate immunity proteins.
